Uwe Claussen was born in Hamburg in 1958. He is Instructor of the Ju-Jutsu-Federation Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Association (www.jjv-mv.de) and President of the International Martial Arts Schwerin Association (IMAS).
He started his career as a martial artist at the age of 14 years training Shotokan-Karate (eight years). Via Judo and Aikido Uwe got to know Ju-Jutsu, a martial art which he still values highly – not only because it is very multifaceted but also because it leaves him room for personal development..
In 1985, after three years of training Modern Arnis, Uwe also started practicing Kali and Eskrima.
In the late 80ies, Uwe met Grandmaster Richard S. Bustillo (International Martial Arts and Boxing, Los Angeles – www.imbacademy.com), under whose instruction he has been training regularly in Los Angeles since the beginning of the 90ies.
At the same time, Uwe started training with GM Gokor Chivichiyan (No Rules Champion, Los Angeles – www.gokor.com) (10. Level - highest Level / Black Belt)
In addition to his Jeet Kune Do, he has also been training Wing Tsun under Thomas Müller for several years now. (www.WT-Schwerin.de).
Apart from stick and knife techniques, Uwe became specialist for modern and realistic Tonfa- and club- (ASP and similar) techniques. Professionally, Uwe works as lecturer for “Operation-oriented training and shooting” at the educational institute of the police of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
